Mollie McGregor is the author of character-driven literary fiction that celebrates the eccentric, the kind-hearted, and the beautifully flawed. Drawing inspiration from Jane Austen's social wit, L.M. Montgomery's luminous observation, and the journal-keeping charm of Beth Brower's Emma M. Lion, she writes stories in which people — not plots — take center stage. Her novels are invitations: to tea, to correspondence, to the slow unfolding of friendship and self-knowledge. When she is not writing, Mollie can usually be found walking, reading other people's letters (published ones, of course), or losing track of time in secondhand bookshops. She believes that most of life's best moments arrive sideways, and that a well-turned sentence can still change a day.
